Waleed Effendi is an investment banker with broad experience across business and finance, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions. As a Senior Associate at Houlihan Lokey, he plays a critical role in managing transaction execution—from financial analysis and valuation to deal structuring, marketing, and due diligence—while serving as a key point of contact for clients, buyers, and other advisors throughout the deal process.
He previously held roles in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Municipal Finance, and Private Wealth Management, building a well-rounded foundation that enhances his perspective as an advisor. His sector experience spans Business Services, Technology & Software, Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare, Financial Institutions, and Energy.
Waleed’s path into finance was shaped by persistence and self-discipline—traits honed through years of balancing multiple jobs and internships. That hands-on experience, combined with a commitment to continuous learning, ultimately propelled his transition into investment banking. He now works closely with founders, private equity sponsors, and corporate strategics to help execute complex, high-stakes transactions.
He earned his BS in Finance from George Mason University, where he served as both a tutor and teaching assistant. Passionate about mentorship and expanding access to opportunity, Waleed remains actively involved in supporting underrepresented students pursuing careers in business and finance.
