Biography

Ashish Bhardwaj is an adjunct faculty member within the Marketing Area in the Costello College of Business at George Mason University. 

Ashish Bhardwaj is a seasoned business development and marketing strategy executive with over 25 years of B2B and B2C experience in diverse global markets in the higher education, wealth management, financial services, insurance, edtech, and consumer packaged goods industries.  

Currently, Ashish advises higher education organizations and universities on globalization strategy, digital transformation of marketing, admissions, and enrolment processes, new program development, and growing international partnerships, while teaching courses in Marketing and Strategy to undergraduate and graduate business students.  

Previously, he was the Senior Vice President and Head of Market Development at Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), leading teams serving management education institutions, management education aspirants, and industry constituents globally. Ashish started his career with GMAC as Regional Director – South Asia, and subsequently set up and scaled businesses in Asia and the Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa, before taking up the global market development responsibility for the organization. Prior to his 15 year career at GMAC, Ashish has worked with leading financial services organizations such as Temasek and Citigroup, and consumer goods companies such as Diageo.  

Ashish specializes in global market development and revenue leadership, non-profit strategy and operations, integrated marketing strategy and execution, international market growth, key account management and customer success, and transformation of enterprise capabilities through technology, change management, and talent development.  

Ashish holds a PhD from Singapore Management University, an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Raipur.
