Biography
With more than 30 years of experience as a certified public accountant, Jeff Smith is the former managing partner of BSB. He specializes in planning, supervision and administration of financial reporting engagements, tax planning and compliance for businesses and employee benefit plans, management and advisory services to small and emerging businesses, and mergers and acquisitions. When not assisting clients with all their financial needs, he enjoys basketball, golf, reading, and live theater.
A graduate of George Mason University, Jeff remains involved with his alma mater. He is a member of the Patriot Club Advisory Board and served for nine years on the GMU Foundation Board. He looks forward to basketball season, where he can take advantage of his season tickets and support his favorite team. While Jeff has many fond memories, including attending his favorite concert—Fleetwood Mac—and enjoying his favorite vacation spot—Virgin Gorda—he wouldn’t re-live any part of the past because he wouldn’t want to risk changing anything. Instead, his philosophy is “experience, learn, then move forward,” a viewpoint that has served him well in leadership at BSB.
