Biography

Jay Liwanag is an experienced professional with a background in internal and external consulting. He has held positions in large major corporations including PricewaterhouseCoopers and CSC as well as startups focused on human capital strategy, business operations, and general human resources. Jay also brings experience from three other local Universities having worked at Georgetown University, the University of Maryland, and American University. Most recently, Jay served as a Sr. HR Manager providing coaching and leadership advice related to inclusive programs at a large non-profit. He has led award winning programs including a Brandon Hall Silver Award for Leadership Excellence for work on a Frontline Leader Impact program in collaboration with the Center for Creative Leadership. 

Jay holds a Master of Science in Applied Behavioral Science from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Maryland at College Park. He completed the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Certification Program. Jay carries extensive experience leading performance management development and various HR Operations including career coaching, talent acquisition, compensation, training & development, organizational strategy/development, and employee relations. Jay has held leadership positions in higher education, nonprofit, and corporate settings and has a passion for teaching, coaching, mentoring, and motivating thought in future talent. 

He is an avid traveler and considers his family the most important thing in his life. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching soccer, playing tennis, meeting new people, and expanding his network. Jay lives in Falls Church, VA.
