Biography

Kimberly McKinnish serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA). NBWA is the advocacy organization representing America’s more than 3,000 independent beer distributors working to strengthen the three-tier system of beer distribution and state-based alcohol regulation. As NBWA COO, McKinnish is responsible for setting financial policy and direction, managing and coordinating the association’s day-to-day financial operations, and is a member of the executive team. McKinnish also is responsible for human resources and information technology and assists with membership services.

McKinnish is passionate about cultivating emerging leaders, and inspiring and developing women in the beer industry She acts in the lead role with the NBWA Next Generation of Leaders Group, the Beer Growth Initiative and NBWA’s Beer First campaign, and the Building Relationships and Empowering Women (BREW) initiative advancing the association’s member-focused agenda.

Prior to joining NBWA in 2009, McKinnish spent 20 years working with and for two Anheuser-Busch beverage distributors in the Washington, DC area. As Vice President & CFO, she functioned as co-COO with direct management of finance, human resources, IT, administration and sales support, marketing, media, and special events. McKinnish has applied her significant distributor experience to her role at NBWA.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. And has had the privilege of serving on many boards and in various capacities with several local and national charity and community-based organizations.
