Biography

Brad Nathan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Rutgers Business School – New Brunswick. He teaches undergraduate and Honors Introduction to Financial Accounting. Prior to his current appointment, he was a Visiting Professor at Columbia University in the City of New York.
 
Brad’s research explores topics related to financial disclosure, public finance, regulation, and shareholder litigation. To do this, his research uses multiple empirical methods including archival research, surveys, and field experiments. Brad’s research examines topics such as the effects of regulatory provisions governing federal procurement on contracting outcomes, whether investors benefit from events impacting the use of litigation as a means of corporate governance, and the social and financial factors affecting households’ willingness to pay their property taxes. Brad’s research has been featured in various media outlets, including the Dallas Morning News, Public Procurement International, and Marginal Revolution. Brad received the Best Dissertation Award from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas in 2023.
