Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts seeks an Accounting Clerk (Variable, 15-25 hours per week) to provide administrative support and data entry for revenue recognition, cash counting, accounts payable, payroll, and accounting functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue Recognition Support (40%)
- Generate cash and credit card receipt batches by reviewing coding and data entry into the general ledger.
- Reconcile support for Foundation gifts to the Foundation’s donor tracking system (Raiser’s Edge) and coordinate with the Manager, Accounting, Staff Accountant, and Development Team to ensure timely reporting of receipts.
- Generate reports from Foundation’s ticketing system (ProVenue) and reconcile with the nightly deposit sheets. Data entry into the general ledger.
- Assist Manager, Accounting with revenue reconciliation and deferred rev. recognition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Accounting Support (30%)
- Assist in the preparation of annual audit schedules.
- Assist with budget and reforecast review and analysis including variance reports, worksheet formatting, and distribution.
- Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
- Identify, research, and recommend process improvements to management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Accounts Payable (10%)
- Analyze and resolve issues that arise with regard to accounts payable function.
- Respond to all internal and external vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Cash Counting (10%)
- Cross-train and serve as a back-up to Assistant, Accounts Payable, Cash Counting and Payroll, to count cash receipts, reconcile concession stand and gift shop register receipts, prepare bank deposits, and assist Finance department as needed.
Payroll Support (10%)
- Assist in the process of payroll including data entry and validation of information in the Foundation’s Human Resource Management System (Paycom).
- Research requests for information from employee personnel profiles.
- Enter timesheet information for employees as necessary.
- Create and distribute employee ID cards for full-time and seasonal/variable employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred; minimum two years’ relevant accounting or related experience required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (proficiency exam in Excel may be required); familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge and/or Paycom is a plus
- Excellent customer service, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Must be reliable, professional, honest, and maintain all accounting and payroll information in a confidential manner
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 85% of the time
- Regularly operates a computer and other office equipment (calculator, copier, printer, etc.)
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, bend and reach with arms
- Lift/move up to 10 pounds infrequently
PAY RATE: $18/hour.
