Biography

Robert J. Makheja is a highly recognized leader and entrepreneur who has a successful track record of both leading mergers and acquisitions among the largest Fortune 50 companies and has been recognized globally for his ability to build and grow successful businesses to scale across multiple industries.

Recently, Makheja helped lead the merger of HPE Software with Micro Focus International (IPO NYSE MFGP Sept. 2017, LSE MFGP.L) for $8.8B, to become the 7th largest pure play software company globally. 

In 2018, as Founder of MFGS, Inc., a top software tech firm, and as its CEO, grew it to over a billion dollars in revenue thus far in less than 5 years, providing end-to-end software enterprise solutions for cyber and artificial intelligence. 

Mr. Makheja is also the Founder and Chairman of the global conglomerate, The RJM Companies, which includes its private equity firm, asset management firm, and premier advisory legal service firm with several hundred of millions of dollars of assets under management. 

Mr. Makheja currently sits on the Fairfax County Economic Board of Advisors, and other board seats for several companies and organizations. He was recently recognized as CyberTech Defender of the Year and Top Tech Innovators of the Year, among many other impressive awards. 

Mr. Makheja and his wife are committed philanthropists through his charitable organization, The Makheja Family Foundation, funding scholarships and educational programs globally, among other great initiatives to foster our next generation. 

Mr. Makheja earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering from The George Washington University, a Juris Doctorate (J.D) Law from George Mason University, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from UT, as well as other graduate studies from Harvard Business School.  

Outside of his many career endeavors and accolades, Robert and his wife, Sonia, enjoy spending time with their three children all of whom attend Cornell University Business School.
